Contract-estimate changes explain less of the quarterly profit gain

Contract accounting recognizes cumulative catch-up adjustments when estimates of a program's economics change. DRS attributes its adjustments primarily to fixed-price programs.
The tax benefit also lifts adjusted EPS

The increase in net earnings was larger than the operating gain.
DRS recognized an approximately $22 million tax benefit after the limitation period expired for a 2022 short-period return, allowing it to release unrecognized tax benefits.
The benefit equates to roughly $0.08 per diluted share, within reported Adjusted EPS of $0.46.
