Commercial jet engine sales supplied most of ATI's year-over-year revenue increase in the fiscal quarter ended September 27, 2026.[1] Their contribution was 57%, compared with defense's 3.5%.[1]

ATI reported results October 29.[1] Total quarterly sales reached $1.42 billion, up 26% from a year earlier.[1] Commercial jet engine sales reached $603.2 million, up 39.1% year over year.[1]

Defense sales reached $171.9 million, up 6.5% year over year.[1] They rose 6.1% from the second quarter.[1] For the fiscal year to date, defense sales grew 16.1% from the comparable prior-year period.[1]

Segment margins moved in opposite directions.[1] High Performance Materials & Components posted a segment EBITDA margin of 23.2%, down from 24.2% a year earlier.[1] Aerospace and defense accounted for 94% of its quarterly sales.[1] ATI attributed the decline primarily to higher manufacturing and period costs, including the cost of ramping commercial production of a new nickel-based superalloy.[1]

Advanced Alloys & Solutions increased its segment EBITDA margin to 25.8% from 17.3% a year earlier.[1] Aerospace and defense represented 45% of its quarterly sales.[1] ATI attributed the improvement primarily to higher pricing and volumes and a favorable sales mix.[1] The segment's commercial jet engine product sales almost doubled year over year, reflecting higher demand and pricing, ATI said.[1]

ATI raised its full-year 2026 adjusted EBITDA guidance to $1.190 billion–$1.200 billion.[1] Its previous range was $1.135 billion–$1.185 billion.[1]

## Why it matters

Defense is growing but represents a smaller share of ATI's sales: 12% this quarter, compared with 14% a year earlier.[1] The release provides no defense-only margin, so the segment results do not establish the profitability of ATI's defense work.[1]
