UVAD Technologies’ Falcon supersonic target drone will be powered by two Safran Power Units turbojet engines.[1] The companies announced the propulsion partnership Nov. 3, 2026.[1] Falcon is designed as a reusable aerial target for missile defense training.[1]

The partnership establishes Falcon’s propulsion supplier ahead of planned flight testing.[1] Safran says the program will enter flight tests in 2027 following a successful ground testing campaign in 2026, a step toward operational deployment.[1]

UVAD lists Falcon’s maximum altitude as 10 kilometers, with specifications subject to change.[2] Safran says an autonomous flight system will allow a single operator to oversee multiple drones simultaneously.[1]

## Why it matters

Safran links its engine supply to Falcon’s intended ability to reach supersonic speeds at low and medium altitudes, with rapid deployment and recovery.[1] The company says those capabilities will allow more frequent and cost-effective training for air, naval and missile defense operators.[1]
