These terms cover your use of tgos.io, thegrowthofficers.com and our emails (together, "TGOs"). TGOs is owned and run by SailQuery LLC, 12530 Fairwood Pkwy, Ste 102 #801, Bowie, MD 20720 ("SailQuery", "we", "us"). By using TGOs you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, please don't use TGOs.

Whitespace, our separate workspace for invited teams, has its own terms.

1. What TGOs is

TGOs publishes news, analysis, data and graphics about the business of defense: budgets, contracts, company financials, mergers and acquisitions, and capital. It is free to read.

2. Not investment, legal or procurement advice

• TGOs is information and analysis for general readers. It is not investment advice, a recommendation to buy or sell any security, a solicitation, or legal, tax, accounting or procurement advice.
• We are not a registered investment adviser or broker-dealer. Nothing on TGOs is tailored to your situation.
• Estimates are labelled as estimates. Where we show a modelled figure, it is a model output, not a fact or an appraisal.
• Dates and deadlines we report (for example, solicitation due dates from SAM.gov) link to their official source. The official source controls. Check it before you act.
• Do your own diligence before you make a business, investment or bidding decision.

3. Accuracy and corrections

We work hard to get things right, and we link reported facts and figures to their sources. We still make mistakes. When we do, we correct them visibly under our Corrections policy. TGOs is provided "as is" (see section 10).

4. Our emails

• You can read TGOs without an account. To get our emails you give us an email address and confirm it.
• You may optionally tell us your role (for example growth, corporate development, private equity, banker, government) and which emails you want. This is never required to read.
• How we handle your data is in our Privacy policy. You can unsubscribe using the link in any email.

5. What you can do with our content (sharing and credit)

We want our work to travel. Share links to our reporting and quote short excerpts with credit and a link.

Findings. Findings chart downloads and supporting data expressly marked CC BY 4.0 are available under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 license, including for commercial use and adaptation. Give appropriate credit to TGOs, link to the license and original page, and indicate changes. These terms impose no additional restrictions on uses that license permits.

Other material. The Findings license does not extend to compiled tracker datasets, full articles, third-party photographs or Whitespace content. For republication or other reuse of this material, contact [email protected]. Any separately identified third-party rights remain with their owners. Existing licenses already granted are not revoked by this policy.

Everything on TGOs, including text, graphics, data compilations, design and the TGOs name and wordmark, is owned by SailQuery LLC or used with permission. Facts themselves and government works aren't ours to own; our selection, arrangement, analysis and graphics are.

6. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• break any law, or use TGOs to harass, defame or threaten anyone;
• send us classified information, Controlled Unclassified Information, export-controlled technical data, source selection information, leaked documents, or anything you don't have the right to share (we won't publish it, and our systems quarantine it);
• probe, scan or test the security of TGOs, or interfere with it, without our written permission;
• scrape or bulk-download restricted material, or get around an access control or rate limit. This does not restrict uses of CC BY 4.0 Findings allowed by that license or permitted indexing of public pages;
• impersonate anyone, or misrepresent your connection with any person or organization;
• use TGOs to send spam.

We may block access for anyone who breaks these rules.

7. Tips, corrections and messages you send us

• When you send a tip, correction request or comment, you give us permission to use it in our reporting. We verify tips independently before we use them; a tip alone is never a source.
• We protect people who give us tips. We don't publish a tipster's name without permission.
• Don't send restricted material (section 6). If you do, we delete it and don't use it.

8. Sponsors and advertising

TGOs carries labelled sponsor messages. Sponsors never see or shape our editorial work. TGOs and Met are both owned by SailQuery LLC, and we say so on every Met placement. Full rules: Sponsor TGOs.

9. Links to other sites

We link to our sources, which are mostly government and company sites. We don't control them and aren't responsible for their content or availability.

10. Disclaimers

TGOs is provided "as is" and "as available." To the fullest extent the law allows, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy and non-infringement. We don't promise TGOs will be uninterrupted, error-free or always current.

11. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent the law allows:

• SailQuery LLC is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for lost profits, revenue, contracts, data or goodwill, arising from your use of TGOs, even if we were told they were possible.
• Our total liability for any claim about TGOs is limited to US$100.
• Some places don't allow these limits, so they may not all apply to you.

12. Ending these terms

You can stop using TGOs and unsubscribe at any time. We may change, pause or end any part of TGOs.

13. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. We'll post the new version with a new date, and for material changes we'll email subscribers before they take effect. Continued use after the change means you accept it.

14. Law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Maryland, without regard to conflict-of-law rules.
