The center is intended to support the corps' operational integration of the ROEM (SIGMA) self-propelled artillery system and LAHAV (PULS) precision rocket launcher system. Elbit says the project is intended to shorten qualification and training timelines and reduce wear on operational platforms.1

Elbit acquires Canadian underwater vehicle maker ISE

Elbit intends the acquisition to expand its underwater intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance, mine countermeasures and anti-submarine warfare capabilities.

The acquisition adds an underwater vehicle manufacturer to a naval portfolio that already includes unmanned surface vessels, underwater systems, sonar and command-and-control suites. Elbit intends ISE’s underwater autonomous technologies to further strengthen what it calls its end-to-end maritime offering.1

ISE has more than 50 years of experience in subsea robotics and also develops and manufactures computer control systems and robotics. Elbit says ISE has delivered more than 250 underwater vehicles to customers in more than 20 countries.1

Saar Koursh, Elbit’s senior vice president and general manager of Elbit Naval Systems, told Breaking Defense that ISE’s underwater capabilities complement the Seagull unmanned surface vessel. He said the acquisition would enable Elbit to offer naval forces autonomous air, surface and underwater systems integrated into a single mission framework. Customers could deploy coordinated assets as one solution or buy standalone systems, Koursh told the outlet.2
