Tide Rock President Brooks Kincaid said Electro-Spec's specialized plating capability complements the metal machining companies already in its portfolio.1

On Oct. 22, 2025, Tide Rock announced acquisitions of Precision Waterjet & Laser in Anaheim, California, and Made in America Manufacturing in Buda, Texas. That announcement identified aerospace and defense components among the businesses' capabilities.2

Electro-Spec operates facilities in Franklin, Indiana, and Lexington, South Carolina, serving original equipment manufacturers and precision machining shops. It runs automated and semi-automated plating lines. Its capabilities include selective gold plating, electroless nickel plating, passivation and micro-miniature plating.1

On its website, Electro-Spec says it has supplied plating to defense contractors for the PAC-3 and Hellfire missile programs, the Navy's Aegis destroyers and Hydra rockets.3 Tide Rock says the platform is well positioned to support high-reliability applications across aerospace, defense, medical, telecommunications, nuclear and battery markets.1

Ukraine would pay with donations from Canada, Germany and Norway through the JUMPSTART program, plus national funds financed by the European Union’s Ukraine Support Loan. No U.S. funds are involved in the proposed sale.1

Ukraine requested 500 PATRIOT Advanced Capability-3 Missile Segment Enhancement missiles. The package also includes spare parts and related logistics and program support, so the estimated total covers more than the missiles themselves.1

State says the proposed sale would sustain Ukraine’s existing PATRIOT system operations against ongoing aerial threats and would have no adverse impact on U.S. defense readiness. The approval covers a possible sale; the notification gives no contract award or delivery schedule.1

The Army selected Lockheed to further develop a new missile interceptor through an Other Transaction agreement. The work covers prototype development and testing and evaluation to assess performance against established operational requirements.1

Lockheed previously offered its PAC-3 Edge system for the program. Lockheed planned to begin testing in 2027, with the aim of having it ready for deployment by 2031. The company describes PAC-3 Edge as designed to integrate with the Integrated Battle Command System, the M903 launcher, containerized launchers and HIMARS Flex.1

Production remains a later decision. DefenseScoop reports that the Army release identifies how the prototype performs, operational requirements, available resources and applicable acquisition processes as factors in future development and production decisions.1
