Defense original-equipment sales accounted for 86.7% of that increase, more than doubling to $28.3 million.1 Defense aftermarket sales grew 14.8% over the same quarter a year earlier.
Commercial contributed more dollars to Loar's overall sales increase, adding $29.0 million compared with defense's $16.7 million gain. Commercial sales grew 31.8%.
The distinction between reported and organic growth matters across Loar's business: company-wide quarterly sales rose 39.0%, while organic sales grew 15.8%. Loar excludes sales from new acquisitions from its organic measure until the 13th month after acquisition, when it includes them on a comparative basis with the prior period.1
Through the first nine months of 2026, reported defense sales rose 47.4% from the comparable period a year earlier. Loar's full-year outlooks use defense market growth assumptions of mid-single digits for 2026 and low-double digits for 2027.1
Defense represents a larger share of Loar's quarterly sales, rising to 25.8% from 22.7% a year earlier. The release does not break out organic defense growth, leaving any contribution from acquisitions to that expansion unclear.1
